Young Person's Care

MyLife offers specialist clinical home care for children and young people with complex, acute and chronic illnesses, as well as life threatening or life limiting conditions.

All of our Health Care Assistants working with children are specifically trained in providing the clinical and social support needs of each child. This includes training in paediatric first aid and basic life support.

Care planning and delivery is overseen by a Clinical Nurse with paediatric experience and carries the appropriate level of skills and knowledge.

How Our Health Care Assistants Help

As well as a designated Quality Officer to ensure the highest quality of clinical and social care. Our service is managed by a clinical governance board and a comprehensive risk and support assessment is undertaken to identify the level of clinical care that is required.

Health Care Assistants are trained by our clinical nurses to enable them to professionally apply skills such as:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Deep suctioning
  • Non-invasive or invasive ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP, IPAP)
  • Enteral feeding including naso-gastric, jejunal, gastrostomy feeding
  • All makes of gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes
  • Total parenteral nutrition via Hickman Line
  • Ileostomy, colostomy, mitroffonaff
